About Me
Hi, I’m Daisy Delgado!
Thanks for visiting my website.
My site is a projection of my passion…what I love to do.
DDaisy Fit is centered around fitness, fashion, and family. It’s a safe place where you can find fitness and nutritional tips to help keep you healthy. It’s also a place where you can find a stylish collection of fitness apparel. I am a strong advocate of putting your mind in the right place for fitness. If your head is not there, your body won’t be either. For me, looking my best gives me a much needed confidence boost to get out and work out. Because lets face it ladies, some days you just don’t feel at your best. Am I right?
Me
I am a mother, wife, daddy’s girl, and fitness fanatic. I love to exercise, boxing, listening to music, dancing, hiking, I’m basically down for anything outdoors. It took a lot of mental warfare to convince myself that I needed to be healthy. For my family, and most importantly for myself. Many years ago, I decided exercise and nutrition would become my way of life.. my religion.
I am blessed to be married to my loving and supportive husband, José Benavidez Sr. From the first moment we met, we were inseparable. He is my coach, my best friend, mi corazón. Princess, our daughter who is now 5, is our pride and joy. Isn’t she beautiful? Please don’t grow up too fast!!
Benavidez Training
When I’m not being mommy, I’m either exercising on my own, or training with my family. My husband is an extremely talented boxing coach who has trained with the likes of many world reknown boxers. You can check out his awesome experience here. He puts everything he has into his family, including training his two sons, David Benavidez and José Benavidez Jr., who are both world boxing champions. David recently made history as the youngest champion to win the WBC Super Middleweight title. And his older brother José is a 3x world boxing champion, winning and retaining the WBA Interim Light Welterweight title, as well as winning the NABF Light Welterweight title. They train day and night, night and day, 7 days a week. I’m so so proud of them. And plus, I get the privilege of training with them 🙂
My Challenge
After Princess was born, I felt like I needed a change. I needed a challenge. I needed to be strong, not only on the outside, but on the inside too. I don’t know if it was the baby blues or not, but I needed to do something. José knew how important it was for me to be fit and train, so we decided that I would train for a Bikini Competition. We trained for 4 straight years. And man was it tough. Man did it take a lot of discipline and self-control. I found my self at war again in my mind. But at the end, with the support of my loving family, my strength would prevail. And so it came to pass. In 2016, all our hard work paid off and I won 5th place in my 1st competition! It was a huge milestone and victory for all of us!
My Why
Now that Princess is in school 5 days a week [sniff, sniff], I finally have a chance to share with you my motivation to get my body on the move every day. Many of my friends ask how I do it. And there really is no clear answer. Everyone is different on what drives them to be active. The problem is, moms have very little time to spare. Hey, I understand, believe me. It’s hard to make it to the gym, especially when you’ve got little ones. Many of us don’t have babysitters waiting on our beckon call.
I don’t have the exact answer for you, but I can show you what I do. The Benavidez training life is often on the go and travel is eminent, but the reality is, you don’t always need a gym to be fit. If you have a body, you have body weight to work with.
